Japanese Countryside

I painted a girl in a red dress leaning on the railing above a valley in the Japanese countryside, with paper cranes drifting past her.

I went to high school in Japan as an exchange student, and folding origami is how I made friends there before I had the language for it. The cranes are in the painting for that reason.
