Commissions

I would love to paint something for you. Tell me the place or the person who matters, and I will make you a piece that holds it.

Most of my commissions are gifts. Someone comes to me with the spot where they got engaged, or the venue where their daughter is getting married, or the porch of the house their family grew up in. I paint it in advance, so it can be handed over on the day itself. I also paint house portraits and portraits of people from photographs.

Every commission gets my full attention. I work from your photographs and your story, I take the time the piece needs, and I do not consider it finished until it feels right — to me and to you. You are trusting me with something that matters to someone you love, and I treat it that way.

What it costs

Price is mostly determined by canvas size. These are starting prices — the final quote depends on the subject, the level of detail, and the timeline.

  • Smaller than 9x12 — let’s talk
  • 9x12 — from $400
  • 11x14 — from $500
  • 16x20 — from $600

Larger sizes are very welcome. Tell me what you have in mind and I will quote it for you.

How it works

  1. You send me the form below, with photographs or anything else that inspired you. There is no cost and no obligation to send it.
  2. We talk it through. We agree on the subject and the size, and I confirm the price.
  3. You pay a 50% deposit and I begin. The balance is due when the piece is finished.
  4. I send you photo updates as it comes together, so nothing about the final piece is a surprise.
  5. I pack it carefully and mail it to you, ready to give.

If it is for a wedding, a birthday, or any fixed date, tell me the date early. Good work needs lead time, and I would rather say yes with room to spare than rush your gift.

I read every inquiry myself and I reply personally — usually within a couple of days — with what is possible, what it would cost, and how long it would take. Nothing is committed until we have agreed on the piece together.
